Ingredients:
3 Cups dried bread cubes
5 Cups corn bread crumbled
1 Tablespoon poultry seasoning
1 Teaspoon salt
Dash pepper
1 Cup finely chopped celery
1/2 Cup finely chopped onion
1/2 Cup butter
2 Beaten eggs
Chicken broth
Toss together bread crumbs, corn bread and seasoning. Cook celery and onions in butter until tender, not brown, pour over bread. Add eggs and toss. Moisten with broth. Bake 350 degrees for 1 hour.
Tip: Mom adds lots of broth to make dressing very moist- She also adds milk. In addition, she adds water-chestnuts, mushrooms and sometimes oysters. She also adds more onions, more poultry seasoning and more rubbed sage. Also, she doesn’t cook the celery and onions.
