Our Family's Favorite Side Dishes

Serve Turkey and Dressing the southern way, with homemade corn bread dressing!  If you haven't tried cornbread dressing, give it a try this year.  It is best if you use very fresh sage!

Homemade noodles are a requirement for thanksgiving dinner at our house.  These are thicker chewier noodles than the noodles you buy in the grocery store.  The are best made in a rich broth from the drippings of either a turkey or the broth from a hen.  We usually have to add a little bit of canned broth to make enough liquid to cook the noodles... we make such a huge batch!  The kids inhale them!  The homemade dumplings are excellent too, but the noodles are the favorite of our family!

The fresh sautéed mushrooms are good on steaks, and in any recipe that calls for mushrooms.  We use this all the time.

The hot and tangy deviled eggs are our family's favorite. These are spicy and tart with vinegar and cayenne pepper.

Homemade Old Fashioned Noodles

We can't have Christmas or Thanksgiving without these noodles.  They are a must have at our table. They are not like any noodle you've ever eaten.  They are thick, chewy and tasty.  Gotta also try the homemade dumplings!
