1 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Hot water
1/2 Cup white Karo Syrup
1 Cup Dry Roasted Peanuts
1 Teaspoon Soda
Cook first three ingredients 12 minutes in the microwave. Add peanuts, and cook 4 to 6 minutes. Remove and add 1 teaspoon soda. Quickly stir in the soda and pour immediately onto a buttered jelly roll pan or large pan. Shake pan to spread around. Do not spread with a spoon. Be sure to use a wooden spoon when stirring in the soda.
Tip: Helen cooks it about two minutes more to make it crispy and tender. If it is undercooked it is hard and hard to chew, if it is overcooked, it tastes burnt. Depending on your microwave, you can determine the right amount of time by the color. It should be an amber color, but not too dark.
