1 1/2 Cups sugar
5 Tablespoons Dutch process cocoa
2 Tablespoons all purpose flour
1/4 Teaspoon salt
1/2 Cup evaporated milk
3 Eggs (room temperature)
1/3 Cup unsalted butter (melted and cooled)
1 Teaspoon vanilla
1 Partially baked 9 inch pie shell
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Combine sugar, cocoa, flour and salt in large bowl and mix will. Pressing out any lumps. Blend in milk, beat in eggs, one at a time. Add butter, vanilla and beat until smooth. Bake until filling is puffed and set. (55 to 60 minutes) Let pie cool to room temperature before serving. Serves 8.
This is the old fashioned apple pie, with a fabulous crust! The apples are just the right tartness, and again, the crust is why I eat the pie... It is outstanding!!!
