Ingredients:
1 Cup sugar
1/3 Cup cornstarch
1/4 Teaspoon salt
1 Qt milk
4 Large egg yolks beaten
2 Tablespoon butter
1 1/2 Teaspoon vanilla
1 Pastry shell
2 to 3 kiwi peeled and sliced
1 Cup sliced fresh strawberries
1/2 Cup strawberry jelly
1 Whole strawberry
Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt in heavy saucepan. Combine milk and egg yolks and gradually stir into sugar mixture. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly; until mixture thickens and boils. Cook 1 minute, Stirring constantly. Remove from heat, stir in butter and vanilla. Immediately pour into shell. Covering filling with Wax paper. Let pie cool 30 minutes until firm. Arrange fruit attractively over pie. Cook jelly over low heat until jelly melts, stirring constantly spoon jelly over fruit. refrigerate one hour before serving. Yield 9” inch pie
Put whole strawberry in center of pie place strawberry slices in a circle around the whole strawberry. The pattern should resemble a flower around the whole berry. Place kiwi around pie edge. Good and pretty!
