2 Cups flour
1 Tablespoon sugar
1/2 Teaspoon salt
3/4 Cup Chilled unsalted butter ( 1 1/2 Stick)
1 large egg yolk
4 to 5 Tablespoon cold water
Combine flour, sugar and salt in a large bowl. Cut butter until mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in yolk and enough water so dough just comes together. Divide in half. Gather each piece into a ball. Flatten to disc. Wrap each in plastic. Refrigerate 1 hour. Preheat oven to 425’ F. Roll dough out onto a lightly dusted floured surface to a thickness of 1/4” inch. Fit into pie plate. Bake 12-15 minutes.
This is the old fashioned apple pie, with a fabulous crust! The apples are just the right tartness, and again, the crust is why I eat the pie... It is outstanding!!!
