Ingredients:
1 Egg
1/2 Cup suet (ground)
1/2 Cup milk
1/2 Cup molasses
1/4 Teaspoon salt
1/2 Cup nuts
1/2 Cup raisins
1/2 Cup dates
1/4 Cup flour
1/4 Teaspoon soda
1/4 Teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 Teaspoon nutmeg
Steam 2 hours for above recipe. For a double recipe, steam 4 hours.
Tip: Mom says her mother always doubled the above.
Sauce:
2 Cups white sugar
1 Cup brown sugar
1 1/2 Cups sweet cream.
Boil 5 minutes and whip when cold. Pour this over suet pudding.

This is a moist cake with a fabulous cream cheese frosting. We use the jars of carrot baby food instead of grated carrots because they are so easy and the cake is just as good, if not better! This is my son's all time favorite cake, and the most requested cake for a birthdays around our house... When Taylor was a toddler, he called it "chocolate mustards cake". Don't ask me how it got that name!
